Sadiegami’s Kirigami general grievous instrux:
1. Fold a basic paper crane. If you don’t know how to fold one, look online or in a book.
2. Pick up the wing on the side that you want to be the front and push it up so the center stands up like a rhombus. Or something.
3. fold the tip down so it goes past the body of the bird and lands on the center crease of the other wing. Then fold the very tip under the wing you are working with. Fold back the upper edges of the head you just made.
4. Flip over. Cut slit down center of wing. Bend out to form arms.
5. Get another piece of paper, this one much smaller, and fold a standard puppet base. No ears!
6. Insert puppet base into the first part. See picture for help. Tape in place so it doesn’t fall out.
7. Flip over and tape any loose parts.
8. Optional: cut shoulders.
9. Draw face.
