Welcome back, SuperFolders, to Versus! Today, we will see a battle of the captains, Captain Rex vs Captain Phasma! If you guys saw my last Versus post, you’ll know how this will work. But for those of you who are new, I will explain. Before the battle, I will list the stats of both competitors, which will include combat skill & equipment, physical condition, and mental condition. Then you guys will vote down below in the comments who you personally think would triumph, and then read how I think the battle would go. Ok, let’s begin with our first competitor, Captain Rex!

Captain Rex

Clone Captain Rex, also known as CT- 7567, was an officer in the Grand Army of the Republic who led the 501st Legion alongside Anakin Skywalker during the Clone Wars. He later served in the Galactic Civil War and fought for the Rebellion.

Stats:

Combat skill & equipment: Being a clone trooper, Rex was a naturally skilled fighter and commander. While he was experienced with wielding firearms, he was also proficient with hand-to-hand combat. His weapons of choice were two DC-17 blaster pistols, and he wore his Phase I clone armor. He even kept a few grenades with him in case of an emergency.

Physical condition: Rex, a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett, was strong and agile. His training on Kamino was vigorous in order to make him the soldier he was on the battle field. Even in his older years, he was still in good condition.

Mental condition: As a soldier, Rex had a tactical mind and came up with daring plans on the field of battle. He was an excellent strategist and won many battles because of his tactical thinking.

Ok, now let’s see who will go up against him, Captain Phasma!

Captain Phasma was a female captain of the First Order and a fearsome warrior. She was a former leader of the Scyre Clan on Parnassos, her home world, and fought alongside Kylo Ren as the commander of the stormtroopers during her time in the First Order.

Stats:

Combat skill & equipment: Being a former warrior of the Scyre clan AND captain of the First Order, Phasma was an expert combatant. Influenced by her rough former life, she was well acquainted with both melee & ranged combat and excelled in both. Phasma wore stormtrooper armor made from salvaged chromium that was both blaster and radiation resistant. She wielded a metal command staff along with both a customized and deadly Sonn-Blas F-11D blaster and a pistol.

Physical condition: The First Order captain kept herself in good shape in order to be strong and agile on the field of battle. It became a routine of her’s to walk many miles across Starkiller Base in order to stay fit.

Mental condition: Once, Terex, a First Order security agent, said that Phasma was “accurate to a fault”. Phasma had a good mind and even took it upon herself to memorize the serial numbers of all her stormtroopers, and also made relatively good decisions on the battlefield.

Ok, enough talking, let’s see how this battle might play out! But first, comment below who you think would win, Stooky for Rex, Fizzpop for Phasma.

The two captains draw their blasters, ready for anything the other will throw at them. Phasma makes the first move. She fires multiple shots at Rex with her Sonn-Blas rifle, but he dodges them with ease. He then returns fire with his two pistols and Phasma just lets the bolts bounce off her armor. Rex knows that in order to defeat Phasma, he’ll have to get past that armor, which will be a difficult task. Phasma keeps firing on him and Rex continues to dodge and shoot back until one hits him in the arm. Since Phasma’s blaster is more effective from a distance, that was a painful wound. Nonetheless, he picks himself up and gets back in the fight. He’s not very severely injured, thanks to his Phase I armor, and is ready to keep on rolling with the punches. He grabs a grenade, unclips it, and throws it at Phasma. She’s knocked back by the explosion, but her armor is still intact and holding up relatively well. Rex throws a few more at her, but this time she dodges the explosions and shoots back at Rex. He dodges those, and prepares to throw another grenade, when he sees that he’s out of them! Captain Phasma seizes this opportunity and shoots his leg, then springs forward with her metal command staff, ready to finish him. Rex gets out of the way just in time, and continues to fight on. Phasma tries to skewer him again, but he grabs it and whips it out of her hands. He manages to stand up and grabs the staff, pointing it at her head. She stands there, motionless for a few seconds, and then quickly reaches for her pistol. She grabs it, ready to shoot, but Rex slaps it away at the last second, onto the ground. He tells Phasma that she’s been beaten and to surrender. And since Phasma is a coward, she does so willingly.

Winner: Captain Rex
Reason: While Phasma is a skilled warrior and soldier, she was not born and bred for combat as Rex was. Plus, Rex had far more training than Phasma and used his excellent tactical thinking to his advantage.
