2: Dead Fold´s Chest

After the defeat of the dreaded Captain Foldossa and the rescuing of the Pearl, things seem to be going well for me! Well, until today. While I was relaxing on the front porch of my house observing the waves of the sea, an old friend of mine who I never thought I would see again, well, I saw him. It was Henry Artemis. Henry had moved when I was in the sixth grade in middle school. Anyways, Henry ran up to me, passed me the note, and made tracks before I could even say where´s the rum gone. Anyways, I thought it best to open this letter. Whoever wrote it though picked a very nice navy blue envelope. However, what it contained was not so great. As soon as I opened the letter, out came the blasting smell of Calamari. The person who wrote it, well, I never wanted to see him again.

Dear John Shake,

I am writing this letter this faithful day to remind you your debt to me needs to be payed. I know you have been avoiding me for a long time, and now that I know where you are, i will be joining you this Sophomore year. However, avoiding me and your debt to me again, and there will be consequences. You have one hour.

I took one look at the envelope, and started to move around frantically, so I decided to text Tony about it.

Jacksparrow@jarofdirt (me): Help me! I need to hide from an old enemy who is coming back to school, HIDE ME!

Williamtheturner@420: Uh, sure John. But, who could be so deranged that you would possibly need to hide from him?

Jacksparrow@jarofdirt: PLEASE!

Williamtheturner@420: Oookay. Meet me at Elly´s house.

Jacksparrow@jarofdirt: What time?

Williamtheturner@420: now.

So I didn’t hesitate to get my newly folded Jack Sparrowgami (who I tweaked to make him look like the Pelegostos King) and ran out the door. Tony lived only a few blocks from here, so it was quiet easy. However, when I entered the house, Tony was looking worried, and just as I had feared, a note.

Dear John Shake,

Hiding at your friends house won´t save you any trouble. I asked you many times to pay your debt, but now it is too late. I will come to deal with you at school personally.

Davy Folds

¨Who is Davy Folds? Why does he want to find you? I have to say, you have much to explain.¨ Tony inquired.

¨I don’t really want to talk about it.¨ I replied.

¨Well, now you have no choice. We have another bully to deal with now!¨ Tony threw his arms up in the air.

¨Davy Folds is Luke Coleman. He was a friend of mine, and I knew him well. Luke had saved up a lot of money to go see Dead Men Tell No Tales with his girlfriend Elly-¨ I began, but was interrupted by Tony.

¨Wait, you mean this Elly, the Elly who lives here?¨ Tony exclaimed.

¨Yes. Anyways, before he was about to go to the movies, we went into the dollar store to get something. Luke dropped his money. Well, knowing me, I bought a lot of Cheetos and The Black Pool Noodle. After that Luke wasn’t able to go to the movies, or spend his money. Then, when Elly asked me what happened, I said that Luke stole my money. Later that day Elly and Luke broke up.¨ I stuttered.

Tony frowned.

¨Why would you do that? You know what? I think we should let Luke take you. That was a very selfish thing to do, and know look at what you´ve done! I´m sorry John. Your on your own.¨ Tony sighed and got up.

¨No! If you settle my debt, I will take YOU to the movies Savvy?¨ I asked hopefully.

¨Fine. Just this one time.¨ Tony growled.

Davy Folds

Back at Waveton, it was lunchtime. After I had finished my assorted sandwiches, I ran straight to the pool area. This time, I saw nobody. Okay fine, it was still crazy. I thought I spotted some Potc origami amongst the crowd, so I dove under water. I went straight up onto a ver very large floaty that was more like a inflatable barge. On the boat, I noticed that the kids all had a origami puppet of members of Davy Jones´ crew. To make it worse, they were either bullies, or people who had been to CREF. Some water rocked the boat, and the origami was left unscathed. Whoa, is that water-proof paper? I should get that! Ow! One of the bullies punched me into a kneeling position, and up from the water, came a teenager with dark brown hair and a Davy Jones T-shirt holding a… Origami Davy Jones. Davy Folds.

¨I assume you must be Luke.¨ I asked.

¨You are neither dead nor dying. Why have you come here?¨ Luke asked with Davy Folds.

¨John Shake sent me to settle his debt.¨ I replied.

¨Did he now?¨ Luke scoffed ¨and why would you do this?¨

¨Because he my friend¨ I replied honestly.

Luke and the bullies laughed scoffed and hooted.

¨You can’t save him. Tell John to come here himself.¨ Luke ordered.

I normally don’t like being bossed around, but I will make an exception because I was soon dunked in the pool to go find John. When I found him, he was moping around his locker.

¨Uh John, Luke wants you to come himself.¨I asked.

¨I´m not sure-¨ John started.

¨It´s the least you could do.¨ I pleaded.

John looked me straight at me, wich was very strange.

¨I created Davy Folds. I caused this, it´s time to have it end.¨ John agreed.

I don´t know if anyone in the movies said that, but it was very cool. However, the Lunch bell rang, so I talked to Luke, and he agreed to meet after school. Trust, me, that guy is hard to talk too.

The Bargain Is Struck

After the lost cause of Tony trying to deal with Luke for me, I came to realize that I had to deal with him myself. I mean, these puppets definitely caused a lot of trouble at my old school: Wheeler. Now I can see why. Anyway, I ran to meet Tony in the Pool room, wich, half of it was being used for swim team, meanwhile the other half was for free swim. On the free swim side, I spotted Luke doing homework on a floaty. Man, he must really like water to be doing homework in it. Luckily, his crew wasn´t accompanying him. Luke calmly got up, and dived underwater to the other side of the pool to reach me. Also, he had Davy Folds.

¨Jack Sparrow.¨ Luke/Davy said in the fishy Scottish accent.

¨I´ve come to bargain. I also brought this!¨ I replied handing him a pack of Cheetos.

¨It´s going to take a lot more then Cheetos to save your soul.¨ Luke replied.

The cold menacing eyes of Davy Folds seemed to be staring down at me as Luke spoke.

¨How many money is my soul worth then?¨ I asked calmly holding Jack Sparrowgami.

¨How much did you spend at the dollar store¨ Luke started in his own voice before reverting back to his Davy Jones impression ¨ $600.¨

¨How am I supposed to get that Luke? Your overreacting!¨ I raised my tone more, to give an impression of control.

Tony, in the background slapped his forehead.

¨Well you better find it!¨ Luke snapped ¨Because you already took up my time limit and my patience!¨

A Jar Of Dirt

So while John was shaking all over, I decided that the only way to get answers was through one person: Elly herself. So after John and I completed homework together, we rode our bikes over to Elly´s. It wasn’t a far ride, and we also had Cheetos on the way. Elly was already waiting for us, a strange expression on her face.

¨So what did you get yourself into now John?¨ Elly asked, as if she was enjoying this.

¨Davy Folds.¨ John replied.

¨The only way to do that, would be to find the heart of Davy Folds, wich he locked away in Dead Fold´s Chest. Luke and I buried it long ago at the beach at School. However, once you do find it, you will put it´s contents in this.¨ Elly then pulled out a jar, and filled it with dirt.

John looked at me like it was the weirdest thing ever.

¨Ís this jar of dirt going to help?¨ John asked.

Elly grinned.

¨If you don’t want it, give it back.¨

¨No. My jar of dirt.¨ John replied.

I then rolled my eyes, and said thank you to Elly. With that, we had a clue to free ourselves from the terrible vengeance of Davy Folds.

Beginning of The End

So a day after all of that weird jar of dirt business, we decided to take action. After school, we ran to the beach, and to our surprise, Arnold, the guy from the Student Body Government was their. Arnold was digging in the sand, and we looked on.

¨What are you doing here?¨ I asked Arnold, who then got up and brandished a stick.

¨Same as you. Whatever is in Dead Fold´s Chest must belong to the Student Body Government. If it can stop Davy Folds, I´m all for it!¨ Arnold explained as he and I started to battle. However, this time, I had the Black Pearl.

Then, a whistle pierced the air. I didn’t want it to be, but it was the slimy git himself. Luke Coleman.

The Jar of Dirt Returns

The giant floaty was held together by pool noodles, and on the side written in permanent marker was ¨The Flying Dutchman¨

On the ship, Luke was perched on a makeshift throne, and the bullies all surrounded him. However, in reaction John did something stupid. John held up the jar of dirt and Jack Sparrowgami high into the air.

¨Come to bargain you slimy git? Look what I got, a jar of dirt! I got a jar of dirt, I got a jar of dirt and guess what’s inside it!¨ John taunted.

Luke´s face contorted into a mask of anger and torment. The bullies all pulled out matching red pool noodles. Davy Folds/Luke pulled out a aquamarine noodle as the Dutchman reached the shore.

¨Release the Kraken!¨ Luke shouted.

On that note, Wyatt and his old crew came to help us! Wyatt carried a green noodle, while his crew held blue, Tony pulled blue also, and I brandished the Black Pearl noodle.

The Kraken Unleashed (Literally)

We all charged, it was crazy. I could barely tell who to fight. I and Wyatt were running through the sort-of large crowd. Then, we got separated. Here are some of the few people I noticed. Wyatt fighting a some guy with a origami pirate hammerhead shark head, Luke was going crazy fighting John in a duel. I also saw… Anna, holding a origami Elizibeth Swann fighting a origami crab guy. However, when Luke shouted ¨Release the Kraken!¨

I didn’t know what to make of it. Well, until a giant Golden Retriever came out of nowhere and jumped on to John! At first I thought it was going to clobber him because it was Luke´s dog, but it was just licking him. However, I noticed Arnold had finished digging, and held up a chest. Dead Fold´s Chest! Before I could say anything, he ran off! Argh, the annoying Student Body Government will control Davy Folds! I looked back, and I still saw John being licked to death by the dog, but then I got knocked to the ground by one of the bullies, so I got up. The battle ended and I fought him off, and when I looked back at John, he was missing! I don’t know what happened to him, but it can’t be good.

Epilogue

I looked at the chest. It had Potc stickers on it, and it looked very old. I brought the old chest to the Student Body Government room where our new President, Henry Artemis was waiting. You might be wondering, I thought he was a Origapirate. WRONG! Henry was working for us the whole time.

¨President, I have recovered the Chest as you ordered.¨ I said as I walked up and placed the Chest on his desk.

¨You have done well Arnold.¨ Henry added.

¨What’s in here anyway?¨ I asked.

¨Something that can place Davy Folds under our control. Something that can make the Student Body Government the most powerful organization in the school. Now, let us see what this contains shall we?¨ Henry replied.

So I opened the chest. It smelled of seaweed and Calamari. Inside I found sand at the bottom, paper cutouts of the Potc characters, and rudimentary Origami characters. However, the most interesting was a red origami water ballon. Henry and I both looked at it wide eyed.

¨The heart of Davy Folds.¨ I breathed.

¨Whatever is inside here will turn Luke to our side,¨ Henry said calmly ¨Please call Luke Coleman to the government room immediately!¨

¨Yes President.¨ I replied as I wrote down a few notes in my folder, and then walked out the door.
