Galen Marek VS Revan

Revan VS Galen Marek.

Revan.

“I am Revan reborn, and before me you are nothing.”-Revan, shortly beafore disintegrating a member of the dark council

Revan—renowned as the Revanchist, honored as the Revan, reviled as Revan the Butcher, dreaded as the Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Revan, and praised as the Prodigal Knight—was a Human male who played pivotal roles as both Jedi and Sith in the Mandalorian Wars and the Jedi Civil War.
At the Jedi temple, he became fast friends with a fellow student named Alek, the young man became a Jedi Knight and was a vocal and charismatic critic of the Order’s inactivity in the ongoing Mandalorian Wars between the Galactic Republic and the Mandalorian warrior culture. Leading the Revanchist movement and taking on the name of Revan, the Knight donned the mask of a fallen Mandalorian as he joined the Republic Military’s fight and was appointed Supreme Commander of the
Revanchist’s.

However, when Revan defeated the Mandalorian leader Mandalore the Ultimate at the Battle of Malachor V in 3960 BBY, Revan and his friend Alek, now known as Malak, followed the trail of a mysterious Sith influence on the Mandalorian Wars to the Unknown Regions, where the two discovered a reconstituted Sith Empire and were turned to the dark side of the Force by the Sith Emperor. Sent back to the Republic as advance agents, the newly-anointed Dark Lords of the Sith Darth Revan and Darth Malak broke free of the Emperor’s mental control and established their own empire with the Star Forge, an ancient space station of great power that had been built by the Rakata species. In the resultant Jedi Civil War, Revan was betrayed by his Sith apprentice Malak and captured by the Jedi Knight Bastila Shan.

With his mind wiped, Revan was given a new identity as a Republic soldier by the Jedi Council and stationed aboard the Republic warship Endar Spire. when Malak attacked the Spire above the planet Taris in a failed attempt to capture Bastila Shan, Revan joined forces with the Republic officer Carth Onasi and a number of other individuals on Taris to locate Shan on Taris and escape the world before Malak destroyed Taris’s surface. On Dantooine, the amnesiac Revan was retrained as a Jedi Padawan and sent on a mission to locate the Star Maps, Rakatan artifacts that would lead the way to the Star Forge, and Revan gained new allies and grew close with Shan during their travels. However, when the group was captured by Malak, Revan’s true identity was revealed and Shan was captured, forcing Revan and his crew to find the final Map and locate the Star Forge on their own. Aboard the Star Forge, Revan brought a fallen Shan back to the light side of the Force and defeated Malak, earning the Cross of Glory and the title of Prodigal Knight.

Revan married Shan and sank into obscurity for several years until his resurfacing memories led him to leave his wife and unborn child behind in a search for answers in the Unknown Regions, and he was held captive by the Sith for three years until a former lieutenant of his named Meetra Surik rescued him with the help of the Sith Lord Scourge. The trio’s attempt to eliminate the Sith Emperor failed, and Revan was held captive by the Emperor for three hundred years until he was finally freed by Republic forces. Taking control of the Rakatan Foundry, Revan attempted to construct an army of extermination droids to destroy the Empire, but the Jedi Master vanished when he was defeated by an Imperial strike team. He reappeared not long afterward at the head of the fanatical Order of Revan, seeking to “save” the galaxy regardless of whoever stood in his way. His legacy, however, would live on; the Sith Lord Darth Rivan, who began the thousand-year-conflict known as the New Sith Wars, named himself after Revan after reading a damaged manuscript about the Sith Lord, and the Sith Lord Darth Bane discovered Revan’s Sith holocron on the planet Lehon and used Revan’s teachings to develop the Rule of Two philosophy.
(Hoo-boy, that was a mouthful)
This introduction shows that not only was Revan a powerful force user, he was also very charismatic. He made allies wherever he went, and his friends were loyal to their dying day.

Galen Marek.

“I am my Master’s weapon. I lay waste to all that stands in his path.”-Galen marek

First, let’s clear one thing up, we are talking about GALEN MAREK, not starkiller his clone.

Galen Marek, codenamed Starkiller, was a male Human apprentice of the Sith Lord Darth Vader. A powerful Force-user who lived during the era of the Galactic Empire, Marek originated from the Wookiee home planet of Kashyyyk as the sole offspring of two Jedi Knights—Mallie and Kento Marek—who deserted the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars. Following the death of his mother, the young Marek’s father was killed in battle by Darth Vader. Though only a child, Marek possessed an exceptionally strong connection to the Force that the Dark Lord of the Sith sought to exploit.

Thus, Darth Vader abducted Marek in order to train the orphan in the ways of the Sith Order. Although the Sith were limited to only two members at any given time, Vader nonetheless trained Marek as a secret apprentice during his own apprenticeship to Darth Sidious, the Sith Lord who ruled the galaxy as Emperor Palpatine. The physical and psychological trauma of Vader’s unforgiving training regimen resulted in Marek’s immersion within the dark side of the Force as his Master intended. With his childhood memories suppressed and his original identity forgotten, Marek only knew himself as the Dark Lord’s apprentice; a Sith assassin who operated under the codename “Starkiller” and a living weapon to be deployed against the enemies of Darth Vader.

Vader kept Galen Marek in content fear and pain for most of his childhood and finally, as he became a young adult, Darth Vader sent him on his first mission.
The pinnacle of Starkiller’s training saw him deployed against Jedi targets for the first time in his life in 3 BBY and culminated in victories against the fugitive Jedi Masters Rahm Kota, Kazdan Paratus and Shaak Ti. With the death of Ti, one of the few members of the Jedi High Council who survived Order 66, Darth Vader declared that the time had come to execute their plan to overthrow the Emperor.

As far as I’m concerned, Galen was insane. The years of training and constant contact with the dark side of the force had caused his mind to decay.

Now we will compare them normally, but with one addition which I feel plays a part in this confrontation.
Physical and mental condition, weapons skill and agility, and force power.

Physical and mental condition.

Revan

Revan was in the top available level of fitness for a human male of his age, employing incredible amounts of stamina and insurance in his years. weathering sith torture for an admirable period of years and continuing to stand and press forward
While simultaneously being assailed by sith lightning and having a mandalorians beskar’gam mask being melted and fused onto his face by the emperor lord vitiate.
All of this shows tremendous strength.

As his body was in peak shape, so was his mind.
Revan was the supreme commander of the Revanchist movement, and, as that suggests, he was of a brilliant tactical mind and showed this in the extreme during the war.
Also, after he was captured by lord vitiate, he was held in a stasis field for centuries while vitiate ravaged his mind.
And through hundreds of years of his mind being ravaged by the sith emperor, he kept his sanity and came out of the stasis field with his mind intact.
These incredible mental and physical feats allowed him to continue far longer in just about any conflict than almost anybody else.

Galen Marek

Galen was capable of Many incredible feats, The least of which was the ability to withstand being tossed around like a rag doll and get back on his feet without showing any signs of bodily damage, but the greatest of which was possibly Ability to claw his way out of a Rancors mouth! He also showed his strength in holding up the full force of an a AT-ST trying to stomp on him.

While Galen was undoubtedly strong and possessed incredible amounts of stamina and fortitude, his mental capabilities were, let’s say, of the lesser amount.
Galen repeatedly got himself into situations that he could have avoided if he was not blindly following his instincts, which were also not very well developed.

This is rather easy, Galen is very strong and has a lot of resistance, but his mental capabilities are simply not on par with Revan.
Whereas Revan, with his tactically thinking mind and incredible strength would have put Galen at a severe disadvantage

I declare Revan the winner.

Weapons skill and agility.

Revan

I have checked all of the resources available to me including a book where revan appears (coincidentally called “Revan”) and his preferred fighting style is never mentioned, so I have no choice but to resort the speculation of other versus serious writers like myself, in this I will call upon EvanNova95’s episode “luke skywalker VS Revan” (by the way, you should seriously check out EvanNova95’s Channel if you want to see a more professional versus paper than mine)
After consulting EvanNova’s debate on Revan, wookiepidia and the book that I own about Revan, I firmly believe that Revan was a practitioner of form IV Ataru, in flooring broad sweeps of the lightsaber and acrobatic maneuvers in his vicious attacks Revan was purely offensive in his fighting style, as he was used to fighting other force users of only small caliber, thus to overpower and destroy them quickly before they could mount a successful counterattack.
Revan was also proficient in blocking and deflecting his enemy’s blaster bolts.

Galen Marek

galen was proficient in all seven of the forms of light saber combat, though his favorite of which were juyo, shien and sorusu.
Also being able to deflect enemies blaster discharge, Galen also was capable of sith shien, A aggressive form of shien made to quickly bring down opponents under sheer speed and aggression.

Galen and Revan both where powerful fighters, and Galen has a definite edge, but Galen relied heavily on the force.

I pronounce Galen Marek and Revan EQUAL swordsman.

Force ability

Revan

Revan was renown for his (at his time) unparalleled now large of the force.
Skilled in both mild foresight and dark side talents such as Force lightning and force choke.
During his imprisonment by dark council member sith lady Nyriss, one of his captors servants (Revan’s interagator, lord Scourge) was tempted into helping Revan escape by the desire to have a greater understanding of the force.
Revan was capable of lifting and trowing people with what looked like ease.
Also, his bursts of Force lightning could disintegrate entire Mpeople!

Galen Marek

Galen had incredible power and showed his proficiency with the Force on many occasions.
In his hunt for Rahm Kota, Galen Marek picked up and crushed an entire AT-ST with the Force.
Although I believe that Galen Marek’s powers where highly overstated, he was and is a extremely powerful Force user.
Unfortunately, I cannot give Galen’s power in the Force the explanation it deserves because there are simply to many of them.

I have to give Galen Marek the edge in Force combat, for hopefully obvious reasons.

And now, the crux of the matter.
Revan and Galen Marek are both extremely fit, they are both extremely good swordsmen and they are both extremely powerful in the Force.
I believe that Revan’s tactical mind would allow him to lure Galen into a environment where he would not be able to martial hid full his Force ability, however that is the only way that he could counter Galen’s sheer power.
But, Galen has only ever emerged from a fight victorious when he flew into a blind rage, and that’s rage has only been shown when he had motivation.
During his fight with Rahm Kota, he was enraged that just might not live to claim his first Jedi kill, during his fight with Darth Vader he was at the point of losing his mind as he contemplated how badly Vader had ruined his life!
Every time that he has fought someone who has close to, just as much of more skill that him, he has only defeated them long after the fight began, and only after he has had time to brach his mental calm, and wash his enemy’s away in a river of pure anger.
However, he has no such motivation to best Revan.

And so, with all of the facts considered, I declare Revan the winner, but only just barely.
I believe that the fight would progress much like the fight between Obi-wan and Anakin on Mustafar, with Revan taking the worst of it for a long time and continuing to retreat until he saw a weakness, a flaw in Galen Marek’s attacks and defense, and would quickly exploit it.
While Revan would win, he would likely walk away from the conflict with a few missing limbs.

This is just my opinion, if you think that I have made a mistake of judgment, please select “instructions please” and make your own paper on what you think the result would be and why.
Tom, Sam, please don’t delete other SF’s papers on how I am wrong if they come out, I want feedback.

Also, please tell me who you want me to debate next time!

Thank you and may the Force be with you.
