McQuarrie Middle School’s real-life counterpart is Stewartsville Elementary, near Roanoke Va.

I visited the school before the OY books came out and on the spur of the moment told the kids I would set a book at their school. So I did!

I think Kellen does a drawing of the school in their somewhere.

In real-life there’s a lot of controversy about the closing. So it may not happen.

Obviously, it would make a great plot for another book!
