SuperFolder Mandomaker
Jango fett VS durge
Durge was a male Gen’Dai bounty hunter who was active in the galaxy for almost two thousand years. Able to survive several near-death situations due to his Gen’Dai heritage and enhanced battle armor, he fought in several wars and collected a multitude of bounties. Over the centuries, Durge acquired a deep distaste for Mandalorians, and even killed their leader at one point. As a result of both personal tragedy and torture, he became increasingly mentally unstable.
Tempted by the idea of killing Republic clone troopers, clones of the Mandalorian Jango Fett, Durge was recruited into the Confederacy of Independent Systems during the Clone Wars. Given the rank of commander, he performed several key missions for Count Dooku himself, and led droid forces in combat on more than one occasion. Near the end of the war, he was launched, and Force-pushed into a star near Maramere by Anakin Skywalker where he was truly killed.[2]
Jango Fett was a renowned Mandalorian bounty hunter, assassin, mercenary, and the “father” of Boba Fett, a genetic clone of his, whom he raised as a son. A Human from Concord Dawn, Fett was adopted by Mandalorian warriors following the murder of his parents and the disappearance of his older sister Arla in 58 BBY. Years later, he would go on to lead them through much of the Mandalorian Civil War as Mandalore. After being imprisoned by Jedi, Fett was responsible for destroying the Death Watch, a Mandalorian group who killed Fett’s mentor, Jaster Mereel.
Following the conclusion of that conflict, Fett became a bounty hunter, quickly establishing a reputation as being one of the best in the galaxy. Later on, Fett agreed to serve as the genetic template for the clones that would form the bulk of the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. When Master Obi-Wan Kenobi located Jango and Boba on Kamino, Fett fled to join Count Dooku. Though struck down by Mace Windu in combat, Fett’s legacy would live on through his son Boba, as well as his cloned brethren, who would have a profound impact on galactic history.[1]
We will now compare the two in three different ways, 1 fitness, 2 weapon skill and agility, 3 equipment. Let’s start.
Fitness
Fett kept himself in top condition, maintaining the habit of training often with his equipment, as a 44 year old male fett was in very good physical condition for his age and species.[3]
While fett may have been in tob physical condition for his species, the Gen’Dai are at a whole other level. Durge’s Gen’Dai abilities, coupled with his armor suit, allowed him to hold his own against almost any opponent. Durge’s regenerative physique made him difficult to truly kill, and even when unarmed, with both hands chopped off, he presented a major threat to his enemies. Durge was incredibly strong. Once unleashed from his suit, he easily overpowered a squad of clone troopers trying to subdue him and was able to catch a swoop bike mid-flight and wield it as a club. He had no lack of speed either, as he could easily keep pace with skilled Jedi, dodging and blitzing even Obi Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. Despite being hit with nine explosive charges in the face, he managed to keep fighting Anakin Skywalker in their duel above Maramere.[6] When unrestricted by his armor, he could extend his body parts long enough to strike down far-away opponents, and could even sharpen parts of his body to create a claw-like weapon instantly.[4]
This round easily goes to durge.
Weapons skill and agility
Fett was armed with WESTAR-34 blaster pistols which he most often used, he would often employ a BlasTech Dur-24 wrist laser, Czerka ZX miniature flame projector, and an integrated Velocity-7 dart shooter with Kamino saberdarts, among other kinds. Fett’s left gauntlet also had a Kelvarex Consolidated Arms MM9 mini concussion rocket, which utilized computer target tracking. Fett used Type-12A anti-personnel rockets, Type-12B gas capsules, and 1126 rockets. He also carried a field security overloader, sonic beam weapon, wristband blades, wrist mounted grappling hook, boot spikes, and electromagnetic devices in his gloves, enabling him to attract his guns from a short distance, all of which he could use to rival masters in the use of any, Fett kept a cool demeanor when calculating his every move, always playing to win or survive. He knew best when to make use of evasion, which enabled him to outlast his enemies. In fact, it was only when his evasion skills did fail him, at the Battle of Geonosis, that he was defeated and killed.[5] Fett was strong agile and deadly with whatever he had with him.
Durge wielded an arsenal of powerful weapons; along with a pair of blaster pistols and a rifle, His armor sported machine gun gauntlets which fired flechettes, a wrist-mounted flamethrower, a spiked flail, dart launchers and energy shields capable of blocking lightsaber attacks for a short time.[4] for sporting As said before, durge, When unrestricted by his armor could extend his body parts[4] to great length, though with all of his weapons and gadgets, durge seemed to prefer the more direct approach, brute strength, which he had plenty of.
This is decidedly more difficult to compare. As fetts evasion skills and durge’s strength and agility basically cancel each other out we will have to resort to weapon skill, which fett employs more numberus weapons and his skill with them seems to be more developed.
This round goes to jango fett.
Fett wore Mandalorian armor in the “shocktrooper” style common during his time, although instead of the more traditional beskar plating, he utilized the less resilient and less expensive durasteel alloy for his armor. He had two jetpacks, one of which was a Merr-Sonn JT-12 jetpack; the jetpack was personally manufactured for Jango Fett by Merr-Sonn Munitions prior to the Clone Wars. The other was a Z-6 jetpack manufactured by Mitrinomon Transports. The JT-12 was a compact jetpack featuring a warhead missile launcher. This model was similar to the more heavily-armored Mitrinomon Z-6 jetpack. The Mitrinomon Z-6 was a more common model of jetpack used by the Mandalorians. Many Mandalorians used this type of jetpack, including Jango Fett and Boba Fett. The jetpack included a targeting computer, flight gyros, and a missile/grapple launcher. Both models were favored by the elder Fett.[5]
Durge had a number of advanced cybernetic implants on his body that allowed him to use his heavy combat armor more efficiently. His own neuro-network worked in tandem with his armor’s computer system, and his helmet’s targeting system was directly connected to his optic nerves. The armor itself was specifically crafted to increase balance and agility, and was painted with a large symbol that resembled his mentor, Jaing.[4] durge also employed an unknown model of jetpack along with a multitude of weaponry.
It looks (to me at least) that fett carries more equipment, though durge’s armor is far more advanced.
It’s a tie
Now the verdict, both fett and durge are formidable characters, but for his Gen’Dai heritage and ability to live to attack fett another day, durge would be the winner.
Now if the two ever did fight I believe that the conflict would go something like this, durge would plan to ambush fett in some way, fett would have sniffed out the trap and would have activated his jet pack to get up two a high vantage point, durge would have broke free of his hiding place to give chase, the two would have than started flying around hurling everything they had at each other, fett would have realized that there was no point in trying to escape from durge and would have changed tactics although going on the offensive would place him in great danger since he was fighting durge, fett would have been sent sprawling and the insane Gen’Dai would settle his hate for fett and for all Mandolorions with his hands.
